MTSU Lightning Mask Project
Our classes task was to make 4 masks for the MTSU mascot Lightning. We had to design a mask that fit well and looked correct that also allowed the wearer of the costume to see out of the teeth. During the construction of the masks I was responsible for the application of the decals. I have worked with decal application before from making cosplays. I worked with the design team to know what decals we wanted and in what place. I used dark T shirt transfer paper to put on the decals, and I used photoshop to arrange them on the sheet.
It was a very spontaneous project. It was my first project working directly with people from MTSU outside of my department. There was a 2-week time constraint, where my class had to make the pattern, design the look of the masks, and then execute the design in only 4 class periods. I think it was a very good learning experience for working on other professional projects and working with a large team of people.
